TOMORROW!

Can you believe the day for your papers is already here?!? For tomorrow:
  • Meet me in the library before 8:30! I will be at Laney around 7:45.
  • Bring your manila envelope with your rubric, check list, and paper (including formal outline and Works Cited) inside.
  • Also included are the following: note cards (in order), source cards, & printed Internet sources.

Remember, you can not print in my room tomorrow morning, nor can you access my classroom at all!

I will be checking the blog until about 10:00 tonight. Ask me anything and help each other out!

Here is the link to an online MLA style guide:

I wonder how late the latest post will be tonight... (Last year the winner was Kory R. with a posting at 1:50 am. Hopefully, you all will be sleeping peacefully at that time).

Good luck!

what sarah asked

Taylor said...

Yes you do guys. It says "It should have the same one-inch margins and last name, page number header as the rest of your paper."

What is the format for the outline. I looked over some work sheets we recieved, but I dont want to foreget anything

Kathryn said...

OH--- and is your thesis on your actual outline worded exactly like the thesis in your paper?

Mrs. Moon how do I internally document a pamphlet? I got one from the Domestic Violence Shelter, so would I use that as the author...or the title of the pamphlet?

Andrew--no prize; just my sympathy!

Taylor is correct about the Works Cited. It should have the same header (but no heading) and the page # should just be whatever page you happen to be on next.

Kathryn--Put the word thesis then a colon then your actual thesis from your paper. No heading or header or page number on the outline.

Taylor--that is a little tricky. Is there an actual author? Or an editor? What info do you have?

sarah said...

wait we dont have works cited at the top of the page???

Taylor said...

No author or editor.
The title is Stop the Violence.
And then it says Domestic Violence Shelter & Services, Inc., so there's not much info...

Sarah--yes you need Works Cited at the top of the page. Sorry.

I guess this is what I would do:

Domestic Violence Shelter & Services. "Stop the Violence."

Then I would put a year or publishing company or anything else you can find.

Taylor said...

So inside my paper...what do I put?
("Stop the Violence")?
Or (Domestic Violence Shelter & Services)?

Kathryn said...

Okay so I put the thesis from my actual paper. Do I center the word outline? Do i even need the word outline? What about spacing for the outline-- double or single spaced? Sorry!!!

Mrs. Moon said...

Taylor-in your documentation put (Domestic Violence Shelter & Services). I'm pretty sure that's right, since they are like the author (or at least the publisher).

Kathryn--don't put the word outline or anything like that. Double space the whole thing.

Kathryn said...

Thanks. The paper that i wrote on from copying the board says to include title of paper.... is that centered or on the left side?

Kathryn said...

my outline goes onto a second page... that okay?

Mrs. Moon said...

Two pages of an outline is fine. Where are you putting a title? Don't put anything on your outline except the thesis and the actual outline.

Taylor said...

Mrs. Moon please stay on here all night. Hahaha. I'm "buggin."

Mrs. Moon said...

Ha ha! No can do. I'm actually siging off for the night! You all have each other and I'm sure everything will be fine. I will check the blog in the morning just to make sure, though.

Good luck! You can do it! :)
