i came across this man.
Kobayashi Issa.
and i almost picked one of his poems, the first i saw.
called "With My Father"
it reads like this:
With my father
I would watch dawn
over green fields.
then i thought, "wait, thats too short, she will get mad."
so i looked at another one, and another one, and another one.
this man has the same style poems for like 100+ of all his works
like i know some poetry is abstract.
but come on. seriously? this is art. look at this poem by him
"Pissing in the snow"
Pissing in the snow
outside my door--
it makes a very straight hole.
imma write stupid crap like that a hundred times and be famous.
come on.. history

That pretty girl by Kobayashi Issa
That pretty girl--
munching and rustling
the wrapped-up rice cake.
i understand that im posting this today, and it may look like that is because im just starting it today, but in actuality, i am nearly fully completed with both of my projects, i was making some finishing touching, and just noticed that i made a note under my 18th century heading that said (LOL@Kobayashi Issa)
FTR(For the record)
Funniness
you know who i DOO LIKE THOUGH
Billy Collins
i chose a billy collins piece,
"Introduction To Poetry"
the perfect illustration of this class
This guy wrote about pissing in the 18th century? Wow. I don't care if your poems are short, sometimes they are the best. I love billy Collins. Can't wait to hear that poem.
